Minister of State, President’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government Hon. Seleman Jaffo has commended CSOs for its pertinent role in providing wananchi with civic education as the country gears towards the upcoming local government elections scheduled for 24th November, 2019.
Minister Jaffo made the remarks during his speech at the opening of the CSO Week 2019 yesterday, which is taking place in Dodoma from the 4th to 8th November 2019.
“Apart from the good job that you are doing in terms of facilitating development to the people, I would like to particularly thank you for the significant role you have played in providing civic education on the local government elections to citizens across the country, even in the remotest of villages,” said Jaffo.
“I believe that through your awareness programmes, a lot of people are now more aware and understand better the election process, their right to vote and be voted for. I am very impressed by your efforts, which is a job well done!” commended the Minister.
The Minister also took the opportunity to ensure AZAKI the maximum cooperation from his office, noting that after registration at the Ministry of Health, members of AZAKI are obliged to work through his ministry, TAMISEMI, in order to successfully execute their projects at the grass root level.
“Let us therefore continue working together in good faith for the betterment of our communities and nation as a whole,” he said.
