Hundreds of residents of Dodoma continue to visit the AZAKI Exhibition currently being held at the renowned Jamhuri Stadium, where they get to experience and learn first-hand the work and different activities of AZAKI in the country.
Talking to the CSO E-Newsletter yesterday, guests at the exhibition commended the organizers of CSO Week 2019 for setting up the exhibition which aims to educate and inform citizens about the importance and relevance of AZAKI to the people and communities around them.
“I would like to thank the organizers of CSO Week 2019 for bringing AZAKI to the people. Having these exhibitions in Dodoma has given us the opportunity to meet one-on-one and learn what CSOs are actually doing in our communities. I am very impressed by the level of organization and representation of all CSOs that are here,” said Cosmas Mataba a resident of Dodoma.
“The exhibitions of CSO Week 2019 has exposed me to volunteering opportunities. I have always had a passion to make a contribution in my community but had never known where or how to start. But thanks to these exhibitions, I have met different CSOs, gained their contacts, and hopefully, I can start volunteering in one of them as soon as I finish my O-level studies,” said Hope Mlang’a of Dodoma Secondary School.
On his side, Dennis Bashaka, a Registrar Officer from NGO department at the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Seniors and Children, who is also one of the exhibitors at the CSO Week 2019 said that numbers of people who are coming to visit the exhibition is very encouraging.
“The level of awareness is very positive. People are very interested to learning about our activities in relation to AZAKI. They ask intriguing questions and don’t hesitate to collect as much of communication material that they can,” said Bashaka.
Meanwhile, Justice Rutenge, FCS Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning Advisor and Lead CSO Week Coordinator said that they decided to bring the CSO Week 2019 Exhibition to Jamhuri Stadium because it lies at the heart of the city of Dodoma, therefore offering the best opportunity for residents to easily commute and access the exhibition.
“I would like to take this opportunity to welcome those who still haven’t visited to come and witness the CSO Week 2019 Exhibition. There is a lot to learn, a lot of AZAKI leaders you can interact with, and so many opportunities to seize. Karibuni sana,” said Rutenge.
CSO Week 2019 has over 100 AZAKI who are participating in the exhibitions.
