WHAT ARE THE CSO EXCELLENCE AWARDS?
The CSO Excellence Awards are issued by Foundation for Civil Society in order to celebrate, recognize and honor achievements and contributions made by different institutions or individuals that have influenced development policy and practice in Tanzania. The awards primarily target civil society organizations operating in Tanzania, and they are also aimed at profiling local CSOs work in order to develop broader appreciation of the important work of civil society organizations in the country.
BENEFITS OF PARTICIPATING
Organizations participating can expect to receive exposure to the larger group of actors from government and civil society. The recognition is also a chance for organizations to showcase their activities and impact for the sake of their own public relations and fundraising activities. The awards also offer the larger group a chance to learn about the unique approaches applied by different actors in the
field of development for the sake of replication of change and innovation in the sector.
THE AWARD PROCESS
We are inviting individuals or organizations to nominate people or organizations that have had outstanding impact in areas specified below. Self-nominations are allowed.
A panel appointed by FCS and a team of other civil society organizations will select 3 nominees in each category as the finalists. A team of communications experts will be then dispatched to those 3 finalists to document the impact stories via video and text formats. The stories will be disseminated to the
public and to a targeted group of CSO leaders attending the 2019 CSO Week in Dodoma from 4 – 8 November, who will vote to select awardees for the event.
The nominations will be scored based on the below criteria:
|1||Development Impact (How significant is the change compared to baseline
|2||Scale and/or replicability of the change||20%|
|3||Sustainability of the change||10%|
|4||Impact to the most marginalized and vulnerable||10%|
